Product Overview
Ultrabond ECO 420 is a proprietary, water-based adhesive specifically designed for both indoor and outdoor carpet installations. It features high moisture resistance and excellent bonding properties, making it ideal for broadloom carpet applications. This adhesive can also bond reground rubber underlayments for ceramic tile installations and does not require moisture testing before installation.

Applications:
- Suitable for:
- Indoor and outdoor rubber, polypropylene (ActionBac), and closed-cellular urethane foam-backed carpeting.
- Installation of Mapesonic RM rubber membrane to concrete or wood prior to tile or stone installation.
Limitations:
- Not suitable for:
- Substrates containing asbestos.
- Nonporous floor coverings over nonporous surfaces.
- Solid vinyl flooring or vinyl-backed carpet.
- Installation conditions require substrate temperatures between 50°F and 90°F (10°C and 32°C) with ambient relative humidity between 20% and 80%.
Suitable Substrates:
- Exterior and marine-grade plywood, pressure-treated lumber, concrete (at least 28 days old), and more.
Surface Preparation:
- Substrates must be clean, dry, stable, and free from contaminants. All surfaces should be level and smooth.
Product Application:
- Spread the adhesive evenly over the subfloor at a 45-degree angle.
- For porous substrates, install flooring while the adhesive is wet; for porous-backed materials over nonporous substrates, allow 20 minutes of drying time.
- Follow flooring manufacturer’s instructions for installation.
Cleanup:
- Clean fresh adhesive smudges with water; dried adhesive can be removed with mineral spirits.
