Dark glossy 5" x 5" glazed ceramic wall tile with a smooth, uniform look, rated for shower, fireplace, and commercial walls in the Artigiano series by Ames Tile.
Artigiano Carbon Gloss is a 5" x 5" glazed ceramic wall tile with a gloss finish. The tile is made from a glazed ceramic/non-porcelain body, has a non-rectified edge, and a V1 variation rating (uniform appearance). Its moisture rating is MR 4.
Ames Tile lists this tile for Shower Wall, Fireplace Wall, Light Commercial Wall, Medium Commercial Wall, and Heavy Commercial Wall applications. The dark Carbon gloss colour is the square Artigiano format: a polished, low-variation option for walls and other non-floor wall surfaces.

Can this tile be used in a shower?
Yes. Ames Tile lists the Artigiano Carbon Gloss 5" x 5" ceramic tile for Shower Wall application. It is a glazed ceramic/non-porcelain wall tile, so it is intended for the wall surfaces of a shower, mirror for walls. Follow your installer's guideline for the appropriate substrate and setting material.
How do I clean and maintain this tile?
Use only neutral-pH, non-oil-based cleaners for routine cleaning. Wipe the glazed area periodically with a cloth or sponge dampened with a non-oil-based, neutral-pH household cleaner. Avoid ammonia because it will discolor grout. For daily care of wall and floor porcelain/ceramic, simply sweep or vacuum to remove grit, then damp-mop with a non-oil-based all-purpose cleaner and rinse with clean water.
Do I need to seal this tile?
According to the manufacturer's care guide, most porcelain and ceramic tile is virtually without a sealer and does not need to be sealed (some polished porcelains need sealing). To test, quickly sprinkle water on the tile surface — if it beads and is not absorbed, the tile should not need sealing.
