The Gold underlay is a 3mm laminate or engineered underlay used for anyone that isn't concerned about noise transfer between floors and as such this underlay doesn't have an Impact Isolation Class (IIC) rating. Which is for impact noise, like moving chairs, sofa, table or other furniture, footfalls, things dropping on the floor. Or a Sound Transmission Class (STC) rating, which is for the ambient sounds like music or voices. It does have an attached vapor barrier...
