A solid wood overlap custom stair nose is a specially crafted molding designed to provide a seamless and durable transition between a stair tread and an upper-level flooring surface. Installing a Solid Wood stair nose
Installing a solid wood stair nose begins with accurately measuring and cutting the piece to fit the width of the stair, ensuring aseamless transition. After dry fitting to confirm proper alignment, the stair tread and adjoining flooring edge should be cleaned and leveled. A strong construction adhesive is then applied to the underside of the stair nose, and the piece is pressed firmly into place, overlapping the flooring for a secure fit. For added stability, finishing nails or screws may be used, followed by wood filler and touch-up stain to conceal any fasteners and complete the polished look.
