Custom Stair Nosing FAQ
What is the difference between Flush and Overlap stair nosing?
Flush stair nosings sit completely level with your flooring plank on the stair tread, creating a modern, seamless finish with zero lip or tripping hazard. Flush nosings are glued down directly.
Overlap stair nosings rest slightly on top of the plank edge, allowing for expansion and contraction. Overlap nosings are typically used on floating floor installations where glue-down isn't preferred.
How many flooring planks do I need to supply for custom nosings?
Generally, each standard flooring plank yields one custom stair nose piece. For standard stairs (approx 36" to 48" wide), we recommend supplying one full-length plank per step plus 1–2 extra planks for milling setup and pattern matching.
What is your standard turnaround time?
Standard fabrication turnaround is 48 to 72 business hours from the time your planks arrive at our Langley facility. Rush same-day or next-day service may be available depending on current factory schedule—call us at (604) 532-2211 to check rush availability.
